Dear Creswick soccer community. One of our junior families is currently going through a difficult time. Please find attached an invitation to a fundraiser and some background.

An excerpt written by a friend:
Whilst many of us were attending various events for “Australia’s biggest morning tea”, to raise money for cancer research and treatment, one of our Dad’s was having his second intravenous immune therapy at the Peter Mac hospital as part of an experimental trial for advanced melanoma. In order to receive this, he had to dig deeper than anyone should ever have to, to find the strength to hold on over the last fortnight without the treatments which might have made his symptoms more bearable. If he had the symptom relieving
drugs, he was ineligible to continue the trial. This astonishingly
courageous 39 year old husband and father has been gritting his teeth while we all hope with every breath for a miracle. Let us pay homage today to the “real face” of cancer sufferers, who show such inspiring and incredible courage while fighting for their lives.
